An anchor link is not meant to be opened in a browser. Copy it, then paste it into the Risetime app.
What the link is
An anchor link is a line of text that describes one anchor: a moment of the day set by the Sun, for example the Sun 18° below the horizon, rising. It is usually sent to you as a full web address, like this:
https://anchor.risetime.app/angle(alt=-18&dir=rising)#Dawn
If you tapped such a link, you landed on this page. There is nothing to do in the browser: copy the link, then paste it into Risetime. The part after # is the name the anchor will have.
Where to paste it
- Copy the whole link.
- In Risetime, open Settings, then Anchors.
- Open Advanced, then tap Import anchors.
- In the Import anchors window, paste the text in the field Paste anchor links. The Find common anchors button lists common anchors to pick from.

You can paste a whole message: Risetime looks for the anchor links in it.
What happens next
Risetime reads the text and asks Import these anchors? It shows how many anchors would be added, how many are already there, and how many free places are left. For each anchor it shows when it would next happen at your location. Tap Import to add them, or Cancel to leave everything as it was.
An anchor link is imported whole or not at all. If any link in the text cannot be read, Risetime says which one and why, and nothing is imported.
If it does not work
- No anchor link found in this text. The text you pasted holds no anchor link. Copy the link again, whole.
- Link 1 of 2 cannot be read, so nothing will be imported. Risetime shows the link and the reason. Ask whoever gave you the link for a corrected one.
- This anchor needs a name of its own. Add
#Nameat the end of the link, with the name you want. - Places missing. You have reached the maximum number of anchors. Nothing is imported or deleted: delete some anchors, then try again.
